PERMESORB IV with CHG Antimicrobial Site Dressing Chlorhexidine Gluconate
Gel Pad
PERMESORB IV with CHG by Triage Meditech is an advanced antimicrobial transparent IV site dressing featuring an integrated Chlorhexidine Gluconate (CHG) gel pad positioned directly over the catheter puncture site. CHG is released continuously throughout the dressing’s wear period, providing sustained broad-spectrum antiseptic activity at the primary route of catheter contamination—the skin insertion point. The transparent polyurethane film enables full site visibility at all times, and the waterproof breathable barrier prevents liquid ingress while maintaining periwound skin health. This product is aligned with CRBSI prevention bundle
protocols and is particularly recommended for central venous catheter and PICC line sites in ICU, oncology, and immunocompromised patient populations.
Key Features
- CHG gel pad — sustained-release chlorhexidine gluconate antiseptic delivered directly to the insertion site
- Reduces risk of CRBSI and catheter colonisation — recommended for ICU and high-risk patients
- Broad-spectrum antiseptic — active against Gram-positive, Gram-negative organisms and Candida
- Transparent film — continuous insertion site monitoring without dressing removal
- Impenetrable breathable barrier — waterproof protection with moisture-vapour permeability
Directions For Use
• Prepare the insertion site using standard aseptic technique and allow the skin to dry completely.
• Remove the dressing from sterile packaging and peel the backing liner.
• Position the CHG gel pad directly over the catheter insertion point.
• Smooth the transparent film outward, ensuring full adhesion with no air pockets.
• Change every 5–7 days, or immediately if the dressing is loose, wet, or the CHG pad is dislodged.
Precautions
• Single-use only; do not reuse or re-sterilise.
• For use under aseptic technique — do not contaminate during application.
• Do not use if the patient has a known allergy to chlorhexidine gluconate.
• Do not use on open wounds or broken skin other than the intended catheter insertion site.
• Do not use if packaging is damaged or the seal is broken.
