Clinical Scenario:

A 45-year-old man was taken to the hospital. After a road accident in which his two-wheeler was hit by another two-wheeler. The patient had been injured in the right lower limb (above the knee). Following the occurrence, a clinical examination indicated a significant soft tissue injury on the lateral side of the right leg, and the bones were also exposed, and the wound was filled with purulent tissue. After the examination was done by the doctor, he advised NPWT ( VTG 2901 ) for speedy wound healing.

Management:

After disinfecting the surgical site, NPWT (VTG 2901) was initiated, and therapy started at -125 mmHg pressure on continuous mode for 6 days. The wound bed was sufficiently populated with granulated tissue. Exposed tendons and bones were successfully covered with healthy granulation tissue. During treatment patient’s vitals were stable. The patient was on supportive medicines to prevent further infection. As the wound bed was considerably occupied with granulated tissue, the wound was went for further processing.
