Clinical Scenario:

A 30-year-old female patient was admitted to the hospital after a traumatic traffic accident. She sustained a wound over her right leg on her thigh area on the anterior site. She doesn’t have diabetes, hypertension, or any major illness. After the accident, the wound started to become malodourous, exudating, and filled with purulent and infectious material. After a complete examination of the wound, the doctor advised CCNPWT (VTG 2901) for faster wound healing.

Management:

After multiple debridement processes, CCNPWT (VTG 2901) was initiated at a static pressure mode of -100 mm Hg for 20 days (4 dressings were changed ). After 1st and 2nd dressing changes, CCNPWT (VTG 2901) assisted in the removal of the exudates and purulent discharge, reducing the risk of hematoma, seroma and contamination. After the removal of the 3rd and 4th dressings, edema was reduced, and granulation tissue was formed, creating a favourable wound environment for the wound healing process and skin grafting procedure as well. The CCNPWT increases the chances of a skin graft to the wound bed.
